Taking Cats to the UAE
Cat shipping to the UAE takes more preparation than you might expect.
Various pet relocation requirements, such as Import permits and flights through approved routes, need to be organised. And timings for these requirements can become more restrictive during the hotter months of the year.
The experienced team at Transfur Animals have been organising international cat transport to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and the wider United Arab Emirates for over 20 years, handling the paperwork, permits and flight arrangements, so you are not left trying to work through UAE import requirements on your own.
If you have already started the process of moving your cat to the UAE and need support, we can still help — just get in touch as soon as possible.

What Do I Need to Do Before Moving My Cat to the UAE?
1. Get your cat microchipped with an ISO-compliant microchip
2. Ensure your cat receives a valid rabies vaccination after microchipping
3. Apply for a UAE import permit before travel
4. Arrange an export health certificate through an Official Veterinarian
5. Book your cat’s flight with an approved airline and route
6. Arrange customs clearance before arrival in the UAE
7. Check that your cat’s microchip details, vaccination records and paperwork all match
8. Make sure veterinary appointments and travel dates work within the required timeframes
Missing documents or incorrect dates can delay travel plans or cause problems on arrival. Our expert cat shipping team manages the process on your behalf and works closely with your vet to make sure everything is completed correctly.
Please note: Cats travelling to the United Arab Emirates must fly as manifested cargo and cannot travel in the cabin or as excess baggage. Most cats arrive through Dubai or Abu Dhabi, depending on the airline and final destination.
