Rules for taking your pet to Malaysia
In order for the journey to go smoothly, it’s imperative that you are aware of a few rules and regulations. We’re IPATA certified, so you can ensure that we can provide expert and trustworthy advice when it comes to shipping your pet. Our advice is that you start the formalities at least one month before your trip.
Before arranging your pet’s transportation, it’s important to ensure that you have proof of vaccination from at least 30 days (but not more than a year) from your pet’s departure. Unvaccinated pets are prohibited from entering Malaysia, so this should be at the top of your list of things to do.
A microchip will also be necessary. For a microchip to be accepted within Malaysia, you must check whether it is ISO-compatible. All cats and dogs will require an AVID 9-digit microchip, however, if they do not have one, they will be microchipped upon arrival in Malaysia for an additional fee.
