Rules and regulations for taking your pet to Greece

Make yourself aware of a few rules and regulations regarding pet transport before organising your pet’s journey to Greece.

Above all, it is vital that you have proof of vaccination signed by a vet from at least 30 days (but not more than a year) from your pet’s departure. Animals without a rabies vaccine are prohibited from entering Greece, so ensuring that you have proof of vaccination should be step one. Please note that pets under 3 months old cannot get a rabies vaccine, so if your pet is under 3 months old then they cannot travel.

In addition, please ensure that your pet is correctly microchipped, as all cats and dogs will require a microchip that is compliant with ISO Standard 11784 or Annex A to ISO standard 11785.

Transfur Animals are IPATA certified, which means you can trust us to provide you with the most reliable information when it comes to shipping your pet to Greece. We strongly advise that you start planning your pet’s transport as soon as possible to ensure that you don’t run into any bumps along the way
